Position Summary
The Healthcare SQL Data Analyst applies in-depth knowledge of healthcare data to support validation, correction, and execution of operational processes. This role is essential for maintaining data integrity and ensuring accuracy across Medicaid claims systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performs data validation, correction, and reconciliation within healthcare claims databases.
- Uses SQL extensively to query, analyze, and update data to support operational and compliance needs.
- Ensures data integrity by identifying inconsistencies, resolving errors, and maintaining accurate records across systems.
- Works with Medicaid claims data, applying domain knowledge to support audits, reporting, and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborates with internal teams to troubleshoot data issues and implement sustainable fixes.
- Supports operational workflows by providing clean, validated data for downstream processes.
- Documents data processes, validation logic, and resolution steps to ensure transparency and repeatability.
- Experience with 837 EDI files is helpful, particularly in understanding how data flows into claims systems.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in healthcare data analysis or operations, including hands-on experience with Medicaid claims data, encompassing a familiarity with billing codes and adjudication processes.
- Strong proficiency in SQL for querying, data validation, and reporting.
- Understanding of healthcare data standards and privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
Preferred Qualifications
- Resides in Arizona.
- Working knowledge of 837 EDI file formats (Institutional, Professional, Dental).
- Knowledge of healthcare payer systems, claims, and provider network data.
- Experience supporting audit or compliance initiatives.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Analytics, Health Informatics, or a related field.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (high school diploma or GED + 4 years of relevant experience).

The typical pay range for this role is:
$46,988.00 - $122,400.00This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
