Meet the Team - Evonik Industries

Coordinate and conduct field assessments of environmental issues to ensure operational activities are consistent with the needs of the organization and requirements of governmental regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain expertise in applicable, local,  state and federal ESH regulations and guidelines and apply in production and services areas (RCRA Waste Management and Waste Manifesting)
  • Understand applicable ESH program databases (RCRAinfo, Waste Tracking Database, and Waste Stream Profiling Software).
  • Coordinate routine activities within and outside work group.
  • Audit ESH programs throughout the site, as well as records and ensure storage in record retention for designated ESH programs.
  • Serve as subject matter expert and key resource for assigned ESH programs for Tippecanoe, as well as other Region sites, if required.
  • Develop and maintain program documentation and training for assigned ESH programs.
  • Participate in investigation of ESH audit/inspection deviations.
  • Participate in internal and external ESH audits/inspections

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 5 years of applicable experience OR BS/MS in a science field.
  • Ability to read and apply regulatory requirements in a heavily regulated environment
  • Strong grammar/composition/editing/proofreading/attention to detail skills
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly
  • And Accurately

  • Ability to write and revise new and established controlled documents (procedures, training, etc.) with the required amount of detail
  • Self-directed, self-managed, reliable, and capable of success with minimal supervision
  • Project management skills – complete assigned tasks on time with the ability to prioritize in an environment of competing demands
  • Must be proficient in using computers and have experience in MS Office programs and demonstrated ability to learn other computer software programs.
