About The Project
Iluka’s Eneabba Rare Earth Refinery (ERER) Project is located at Eneabba in Western Australia, around 270km north of Perth. We are delivering Australia’s first fully integrated rare earths refinery, achieving an independent supply of rare earth oxides essential to global electrification and decarbonisation. Our state-of-the-art refinery will feature a total rare earth oxide capacity of 23,000 tonnes p.a, flexibility to process a range of feedstocks and recycling of water and reagents.
About The Role
We are looking for a for a self-motivated and experienced Project Controls Manager to join the Iluka team. The main objectives of the Project Controls Manager are to lead the team providing Project delivery services encompassing estimating, planning and scheduling, and cost control functions.
Essential to the role is the effective and efficient co-ordination of resources, capabilities, planning, change management, reporting, and internal and external stakeholder management. The role will also be accountable for compiling and analysing project reports, and accurate project forecasts.
Key elements of the role include:
- Guidance including leading review process in baselining project deliverables, control budget and project schedule
- Management including coordination of project delivery services namely Costs, Schedule and Estimating
- Lead and manage estimating, planning and cost control reviews to ensure compliance to project requirements and KPIs
- Cost monitoring for owners team scope including assessment, variance and trend analysis including recommendation of corrective actions and mitigations
- Analysis, review and management of, in conjunction with the Project Controls Lead and Lead Planner, control schedule and control budgets
- Owners Change Management – process, variance and trend analysis including provision of team guidance in explaining significant delta in trends and variances
- EPCM Contract Change Management – process delivery, variance and trend analysis including provision of team guidance in identifying inconsistencies and upward trends
- Develop, clarify and manage project forecasting both EPCM and Owners Team including understanding and explaining drivers leading to significant variance in month to month forecast comparisons
- Develop, manage and drive alignment of project progress measurement systems across all project stages i.e. engineering, contracts and procurement, construction and commissioning
About You
To be successful for this role, you will have:
- Significant experience in study development and project delivery within a resources environment
- Demonstrated experience in project controls management within a resources environment
- Expert proficiency in project governance for a mining company or equivalent resources business
- Proficiency in delivery of projects through the life cycle; i.e. from scoping, through feasibility to execution and handover to operations
- Sound understanding of project financial management, cost control, schedule planning, earned value management, project services forecasting techniques and portfolio reporting
- Ability to negotiate with and influence stakeholders across the organisation to effect positive improvements
- Exposure to writing and presenting project papers to an executive team
- Self-motivated and can work with a high level of autonomy
