About The Role

We’re on the lookout for an Onsite Tech Support Officer to join our IT team. This role is all about bringing great service directly to our construction sites across South-East QLD, ensuring our teams on the ground have reliable, high-performing IT. In this mobile role, you’ll be hands-on with hardware setups, basic troubleshooting, and mobile device support, while also being the friendly face that helps project teams solve their tech challenges on site.

You’ll spend most of your week (around four days) travelling between project sites, with one day back in the office. This is a hands-on, independent role where you’ll be the face of IT on site - setting up equipment, solving basic issues, and connecting site teams with the broader IT support function.

Your days will be varied, including:

  • Travelling to our various offices and project sites across Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast and Toowoomba (company vehicle provided).
  • Setting up and supporting remote site offices with IT networks, laptops, copiers, cameras, AV, and mobile devices.
  • Running and testing network cabling, tagging electrical equipment (training provided).
  • Providing first-line IT support onsite — from printers and laptops to software installs and network connectivity.
  • Maintaining accurate records in our IT ticketing system, updating knowledge base articles, and auditing hardware.
  • Supporting asset management and end-user training, while promoting IT security awareness across sites.
  • Building strong relationships with on onsite teams and acting as a conduit for the office-based IT team, raising issues or risks as you hear of them.

About You

You’ll succeed in this role if you love variety, enjoy helping others, and bring a problem-solving mindset. You’re comfortable being on the road, rolling up your sleeves to get the job done, and working directly with our project teams to keep things running smoothly.

Ideally, You Will:

  • Have demonstrated relationship building skills and excellent communication.
  • Bring a working level of IT knowledge (comfortable with routers, laptops, mobile devices, and equipment setups), with escalation pathways and support in place for more complex issues.
  • Demonstrate professional maturity, able to work independently, and trusted to represent IT onsite
  • Must have a current driver’s licence and a willingness to travel to our project sites and office locations across Southeast QLD (company car is provided)
  • There is a manual handling requirement for this role, you must be able to lift up to 20kg (printers & IT equipment)
  • Provide a high level of customer service and have the ability to solve problems and seek solutions.
  • Be an effective communicator with interpersonal skills
  • Be proactive, motivated and have the ability to 'think outside the box' to create efficiencies
  • Display a basic working knowledge of ICT hardware including mobile devices, Windows computers and Audio-Visual devices.
  • Have a basic knowledge of network protocols/equipment, and telecommunications systems and devices is also an advantage.
  • Have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Tertiary IT studies or further learning is welcomed, but not essential.

This role offers opportunities to upskill towards Level 1–2 Tech Support over time, while being ideal for someone seeking stability and becoming a trusted onsite expert.
