Education Support Traineeship | Melbourne Inner West Primary School

About The Role

Working alongside a supportive and collaborative team in Melbourne’s Inner west, this role will see the successful candidate working Fulltime, Monday to Friday whilst completing a 12-month traineeship in Education Support.

In this rewarding role, you'll work within a mainstream setting, providing compassionate care and support to children (Prep to Grade 6) with additional barriers. You will assist teachers to deliver educational requirements within the classroom and grow within a school that prides themselves in upholding their core values of Collaboration, Creativity, Critical Thinking and Courage. 

What you will be doing

• Complete training blocks within the school holidays
• Assist teachers in the planning of student routines
• Communicate tasks to students to support understanding
• Address immediate behavioral needs of students
• Provide basic supervision for small groups of students

What we are looking for

• Great communication, engaging personality and people skills
• Patience, compassion and the ability to stay calm under pressure
• Capable of providing physical and emotional support to students
• Passionate about education and completing a Cert III in Education Support
• Ability to complete training blocks within school holidays
• Current Working with Children’s Check or willing to obtain
• Willing to complete two-day volunteer trail
