Start Date: January 2026
Salary (Actual Salary): MPS-UPS (£32,916 to £51,048)
About the Academy:
Outwood Academy Ormesby can be found in the town of Middlesbrough in the north-east of England. Our goal is to continuously improve and become a leading academy in the region.
Through strong leadership, we empower our staff to excel and ensure that students receive the best possible education and outcomes. The academy provides an excellent environment for professional development and making a positive impact on the lives of students in the area.
At our academy, we have highly trained staff and effective safeguarding measures in place to support all staff members. Additionally, the SLT and staff work together effectively to ensure that all students are actively engaged in their education.
About the Role: Outwood Academy Ormesby is seeking to appoint a driven and innovative teacher to our KS3 alternative provision. Alongside a HLTA and supported by the Alternative Provision Lead, you will be responsible for delivering the alternative provision curriculum to a group of 15 KS3 students who struggle to access mainstream. You will support the students to develop their emotional resilience, their well-being and to embrace routine and behaviour for learning. You will enable the students to develop their literacy and numeracy skills whilst also filling gaps in their wider curriculum knowledge through skillful and creative teaching. After a successful placement, you will support students to re-integrate back into mainstream and a new cohort will arrive.  This is an exciting position, allowing for creative and innovative teaching. You will play a key role in supporting our school on its exciting school improvement journey. You will be part of a team committed to ensuring that all students are able to achieve the best they can, leading to lives of opportunity and choice.

About The Department:

Temenos is our internal alternative provision. Between 8 and 15 children are supported through Temenos to re-engage in their learning and the school. Students will be taught in Temenos for up to one term and have all of their lessons within the Temenos provision. The classroom teacher will deliver these, alongside a higher level teaching assistant. Students also benefit from interventions and social and emotional support sessions, some of which are delivered by the classroom teacher. After their time in Temenos, students transition back into the mainstream school with a renewed sense of purpose and belonging.

We believe that our school is a special place to work with lots to offer and we hope to appoint individuals who will further enhance and supplement our staff team. We will provide a welcoming and supportive working environment, an experienced leadership team, fantastic children and an abundance of resources.
