Job Description

What You Will Do*:

Compliance:  Coordinates LPA and ODOT Projects, ensuring compliance with all regulations for right-of-way, utilities, and property management. Attends field reviews and project meetings to give input on schedules and completeness.

Stakeholder Coordination: Works directly with a wide range of individuals and organizations, including ODOT, consultants, developers, property owners, and legal teams, to manage all project activities and resolve issues.

Funding and Administrative Oversight: Handles the administrative and financial aspects of projects, securing federal funding and providing information and presentations to various stakeholders.

Problem-Solving and Review: Reviews project plans, offers recommendations, and resolves problems that arise, from utility coordination to on-site construction issues, working with all parties to find solutions.

Qualifications

3 yrs. exp. in position involving public speaking/public contact to explain policies, procedures & programs of agency, writing of promotional &/or explanatory publications & materials &/or drafting legislation &/or administrative rules for government agency.

-Or 24 mos. exp. as legislative aide or page.

-Or completion of undergraduate core coursework in English, journalism, communication or political science; 12 mos. exp. in handling legislative &/or public affairs for government agency.

-Or 12 mos. exp. as Assistant Liaison Officer, 63510.

-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.

Job Skills: Operational and Administrative Support

Supplemental Information

All bargaining unit and exempt new hires to ODOT must serve a one-year probationary period. 

The selection process for this position will include a structured interview.  Candidate responses to the interview questions will be scored and the selection will be made in accordance with the OCSEA/AFSCME Contract.

This position is overtime eligible based on FLSA Standards.

If this position is filled internally, the wage rate will be determined in accordance with the contract. 

Background Check:

The final candidate selected for this position will be required to undergo a criminal background check. An individual assessment of an applicant's prior criminal convictions will be made before excluding an applicant from consideration.
