Job Description

Utilities Relocation Technician 1, Capital Programs, PN 20052868

What You Will Do:

  • Review permit applications & plans for proposed work within state from companies & local governmental agencies.
  • Independently review & approve right-of-way use permits.
  • Inspect work of contractors & personnel performing work on state highway right-of-ways, as authorized by permit, to ensure work is being performed in accordance with submitted approval plans & specifications & provide instruction as needed.
  • Conduct onsite physical inspections of utility construction projects involving relocation &/or adjustment of utility facilities.

Qualifications

  • 12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. exp. in reading construction & right of way plans; 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in public relations; valid driver’s license.
  • -Or equivalent of Minimum Qualifications For Employment noted above.

Supplemental Information

Valid driver's license required.

The selection process for this position will include a structured interview.  Candidate responses to the interview questions will be scored and the selection will be made in accordance with the OCSEA/AFSCME Contract.

This position is overtime eligible based on FLSA Standards.

All bargaining unit new hires must serve a one (1) year probationary period.

The final candidate selected for this position will be required to undergo a criminal background check. An individual assessment of an applicant's prior criminal convictions will be made before excluding an applicant from consideration.
