This is a remote position.
Schedule:- Mondays to Fridays, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, Montreal, QC, Canada (Eastern time), with an hour unpaid break
Responsibilities:
- Data Engineering & Development
- Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
- Build and optimize data lakes and data warehouses using Databricks and Snowflake.
- Develop reusable, scalable, and reliable data processing solutions.
- Cloud Platform Work
- Implement and support cloud-native data solutions on AWS (Redshift, Glue, S3, Lambda), Azure (Data Factory, Synapse, Fabric), and Google Cloud (BigQuery, Dataflow, GCS).
- Ensure cloud deployments follow best practices for performance, security, and cost efficiency.
- Analytics & BI
- Collaborate with BI developers and business teams to deliver Power BI dashboards and self-service analytics.
- Support data modeling and semantic layers to enable business insights.
- Collaboration & Delivery
- Work with project managers, architects, and client stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Participate in agile development cycles, version control, and CI/CD processes.
- Document processes, standards, and technical decisions.
Requirements
Required Skills & Experience:- 3–6 years of professional experience as a Data Engineer / Developer.
- Strong programming skills in Python and SQL (performance tuning, stored procedures, query optimization).
- Hands-on experience with Databricks (PySpark, Delta Lake, MLflow) and/or Snowflake (warehouses, streams/tasks, Snowpipe).
- Cloud experience with at least one major provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and familiarity with cross-cloud concepts.
- Experience designing and building ETL/ELT pipelines and managing structured/unstructured datasets.
- Good knowledge of data modeling, warehouse design, and performance optimization.
- Practical experience with Power BI or other BI tools.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Front-end development (React, Angular, or Vue) and back-end development (Node.js, Django, or similar).
- Shopify development experience (custom apps, theme modifications, API integrations).
- Odoo ERP experience (customization, integration, module development) or willingness to learn Odoo.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices: Git, CI/CD, Terraform, or similar.
- Familiarity with modern data architectures (Data Mesh, Lakehouse, Fabric).
- Exposure to big data tools: Kafka, Airflow, or dbt.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
