Description

The Economics Department seeks to fill the Edmond D. Villani Chair in Economics. The holder of the Villani Chair is expected to provide leadership for and have a transformational impact on the department in terms of research, teaching, and service. Hiring will be at the rank of Full Professor. We welcome candidates from any field.

The holder of the Villani Chair is expected to possess the following qualifications:

  •  Forward-Looking Research Agenda: An articulated research agenda demonstrating a commitment to ongoing innovation and scholarly contributions.
  • Curricular Innovation: A proven ability to influence and enrich the department's curricular offerings, both at the undergraduate and graduate levels, through innovative and relevant coursework and its delivery.
  • Dedication to Advising and Mentoring: A demonstrated commitment to mentoring and advising graduate students, with an emphasis on fostering the success of individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Exemplary Service Record: An established record of service to previous institutions and the broader professional community.

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position is $304,230 to $421,281.40, which represents the full range of anticipated compensation for this position. Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
