Messina College at Boston College is inviting applications for Part-Time Faculty positions in History on an open and rolling basis.
Teaching Opportunities in History
Messina College is seeking instructors for History courses for the Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 semesters. Courses should fulfill the Boston College History Core requirement such as Modern History I or Modern History II.
In Fall 2025, instructors for three lectures of Modern History are needed. Classes will meet at the following times:
- Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 9:00 – 9:50am
- Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 2:00 – 2:50pm
- Monday and Wednesday, 3:00 – 4:15pm
Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply to express their interest for Fall 2025 and beyond. The dates and times for Spring 2026 will be announced in the coming months.
About Messina College
Messina College is a new two-year residential college division of Boston College that offers an Associate’s Degree program for first-generation students. The program’s goal is to prepare students to enroll in a bachelor’s degree program or begin their professional careers upon graduation. Messina College students live and study on the Brookline Campus of Boston College and have full access to BC’s facilities and programs. Qualifications
Candidates should have experience teaching History at the college level. A Ph.D. or M.A. in a relevant field or advanced graduate standing will be considered.
Classes will be offered on the Brookline campus of Boston College. Part-time faculty receive a competitive salary on a per course basis. In addition, part-time faculty at Messina College have shared office space to prepare lectures and meet with students.
