Description
IE University invites qualified candidates in communication to apply for at least one tenure-track position. The positions are at the Assistant or Experienced Assistant Professor level in the Department of Communication and Media, beginning in September 2026.
The successful candidates will have an active research agenda in one or more areas of specialization within communication, including:
- Strategic, Corporate, and Visual Communication, to support the BCDM’s professionally-oriented curriculum and IE University’s commitment to sustainable business practices
- Critical, Cultural, and International Communication, to expand our globally-oriented and sustainability-focused scholarship
- Media Studies and Political Communication, to strengthen our teaching and research on the role of media in shaping public life, democracy, and the quality of the information environment
The selected candidates will join and complement a vibrant and growing community of researchers in Communication and Media whose work encompasses areas as diverse as journalism studies, critical-cultural approaches, digital media studies, cultural production, film and media, globalization, public affairs, corporate ethics, and consumer behavior.
The successful candidates will have a Ph.D. in Communication or a related discipline, as well as positively evaluated teaching experience at the university and/or graduate level. The ability to teach courses in graphic design, motion graphics and/or animation applied to branding and/or marketing would be valued highly for the positions.
Proficiency in Spanish is desirable, but not required nor necessary for career progression.

Qualifications
