The House Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and ensuring the delivery of high-quality support to individuals living with disabilities.
This role will involve supervising and mentoring a team of support workers, ensuring the safety and well-being of participants, and implementing person-centred active support practices.
The House Supervisor reports to a Hearth Support Services Relationship Manager, who oversees the ongoing management of the relationship between the participant and Hearth Support Services.
The Role May Involve:
- Oversee the daily operations of the house, ensuring smooth delivery of services in accordance with organisational policies and regulatory requirements.
- Manage shift schedules, ensuring appropriate staffing levels to meet the individual support needs of the participant.
- Maintain a safe and clean-living environment, ensuring all safety and compliance standards are met.
- Monitor and assess the well-being of participants, reporting any concerns to appropriate healthcare professionals, line manager and family members when required.
- Ensure that each participant's individual support plan is implemented effectively, including personal care, health, and social needs.
- Promote and facilitate independence, personal choice, and community participation for all participants.
- Ensure that staff members follow policies, procedures, and best practices while delivering support services.
- Act as a role model for staff in terms of professional conduct, and commitment to quality service delivery.
Requirements
Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Certificate IV in Disability or higher, or relevant experience in the disability sector. (Desirable)
- Previous experience in supporting individuals with a disability (Essential)
- Strong understanding of the disability and community services sector (Essential)
- Transferable life/work skills, combined with a compassionate and supportive approach (Desirable)
Essential Criteria:
- A genuine passion for the wellbeing and inclusion of people with disabilities.
- Demonstrates strong commitment and responsibility while respecting Hearth’s participants and their families
- Employee Working with Children Check
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Valid Driver’s License
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- International Police Check (if applicable)
- Must meet all visa requirements for employment in Australia.
