atNorth is expanding its operations in Fitjar, Reykjanesbær, and is looking for a dynamic, experienced professional for the role of Health & Safety Officer with experience and education in electrical work. The role will also include tasks related to electrical systems.

This is a permanent, full-time position and is open to all genders.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Promote workplace safety and ensure compliance with laws and regulations
  • Prepare plans, improvements, and follow-up actions related to deviations and work processes
  • Carry out safety inspections and audits, with a focus on electrical safety
  • Lead, train, and support employees on safety matters, with an emphasis on low- and high-voltage systems
  • Conduct risk assessment and classify risks
  • Handle installation, supervision, and maintenance of electrical systems
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and development of safety procedures and methods in close collaboration with employees and contractors

Education and Skills Requirements

  • Education and experience in electrical work / electrical engineering
  • Other education relevant to the role is an advantage
  • Solid experience with health, safety, and/or environmental projects
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations related to workplace safety
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Leadership skills, organizational ability, and accuracy
  • Good command of English, both written and spoken
  • Detail-oriented and well-organized work approach
