Required Education:

Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college program or technical school or nursing diploma

Required Certifications:

1 of the following certifications must be obtained in one year -  , ARRT-(R)(N)(CT) - American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT), Radiologic Technologist License - Arkansas Department of Health

ARRT - Computed Tomography (CT) - American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT), Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) - Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board

Description

  • 1. Verifies exams as ordered by physician.
  • 2. Developing the knowledge to perform correct scan protocols in an effort to decrease radiation exposure to patients.
  • 3. Developing knowledge of and adherence to all radiation safety recommendations, including patient shielding. ALARA
  • 4. Developing knowledge to properly administer IV and oral contrast.
  • 5. Developing ability to explain exams/procedures to patients and families.
  • 6. Ensures that work area is properly maintained.
  • 7. Developing knowledge of current or new and evolving technologies in CT.
  • 8. Maintains equipment and requests service as needed.
  • 9. Complies with all TJC, state, federal, and local regulatory laws, standards, and protocols.
  • 10. Performs other duties as assigned.
