Carries out obstetric and gynecological services provided by the hospital, both on an in-patient and out-patient basis, for those patients designated as being entitled to such care by
- 3.2 Providing surgical care both in the operating room and in the O.P.D. for gynecologic and obstetric conditions for
- both emergency and planned procedures.
- 3.3 Covering the Delivery Room to include admitting patients, reviewing their history, planning a course of action,
- performing both spontaneous and operative deliveries, and interacting with midwives.
- 3.4 Covering the Emergency Service by promptly responding to calls for consultation.
- 3.5 Providing out-patient care in Clinics, when so assigned by the head of department.
- 3.6 Working evenings, nights, weekends and holidays according to a schedule compiled by the head of department.
- 3.7 Doing and interpreting ultrasound examinations both in hospital and on an out-patient basis.
- 3.8 Interpreting fetal heart rate monitoring and taking appropriate action.
- 3.9 Carrying out formal and informal consultations from physicians from other departments.
- 3.10 Attending committee meetings when so assigned by the Head of department.
- 3.11 Interacting with patients' families to keep them informed of the patient's condition, changes in condition and plans.
- 3.12 Monitors clinical and other established indicators to ensure ongoing quality assurance.
- 3.13 Strictly observes organization’s medical regulations and policies especially those related to infection control, patient
- safety, patient assessment, and patient care
- 3.14 Carrying out other duties when requested by the Head of department
- 3.15 Monitors within established guidelines the quality of care provided. Participates in review/study of difficult and
- special cases.
- 3.16 Comply with all OSH and infection control policies, standards and procedures and cooperate with hospital
- management to comply those requirements
- 3.17 Work accordance with the documented OSH procedures and instructions, specific responsibilities
- 3.18 Be familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures
- 3.19 Notifying OSH Hazards, incidents, Near misses and issues and assistance with the preparation of risk assessments,
- incident reports
- 3.20 Comply with Waste management procedures and policies
- 3.21 Attend applicable OSH/Infection control training programs, mock drills and awareness programs
- 3.22 Use of appropriate personal protective equipment and safety systems.
- 3.23 All licensed and eligible healthcare providers participating in DOH’s Cervical Cancer Screening Program must:
- 3.23.1 Provideclinicalservicesandpatient careinaccordancewithDOHPoliciesandStandards, and the
- laws and regulations of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
- 3.23.2 SubmitdatatoDOHviae-ClaimsinaccordancewiththeDOHReportingofHealthStatistics Policy
- and as set out in the DOH Data Standards and Procedures.
- 3.23.3 Comply with relevant DOHPolicies and Standards with special attention to:
- 3.23.3.1 Policies and standards on Patient Education and Consent: The licensed provider must
- provide appropriate patient education and information regarding the screening test
- and must ensure that appropriate patient consent is obtained and documented on
- the Patient’s medicalrecord
- 3.23.3.2 Policies and standards on managing patient medical records including developing
- effective recording systems, maintaining patient records, maintaining
- confidentiality,privacyandsecurityofpatientinformation;andeducatingpatients on
- services provided and satisfying the requirements of patient informed consent and
- patientrights and responsibilities charter
- 3.23.3.3 DOH Data Standards andProcedures
- 3.24 Comply with DOH’s requests to inspect and audit records and cooperate with DOH authorized
- auditors asrequired by DOH; and
- 3.25 Comply with requirements for information technology (IT) and data management including sharing
- of screening/diagnosis and where applicable, pathology results, electronic patient records and
- disease managementsystems.
- 4.1 Graduation from an approved medical school plus internship.
- 4.2 Three years residency in obstetrics and gynecology culminating in procuring a Post Graduate
- 4.3 Master’s degree and/or equivalent Fellowships approved by DOH.
- 4.4 Must have DOH License to practice.
- 4.5 Three or more year’s exclusive practice of obstetrics and gynecology since certification.
- 4.6 An excellent command of written and oral English.
- 4.7 Basic knowledge of medical Arabic desirable
- 4.8 Must have a thorough knowledge of medical ethics.
