- $55.08 + 25% casual loading + 12% superannuation
The Opportunity
Our City Futures team is in search of a motivated individual to oversee and coordinate the initiation of public realm projects throughout the municipality. This includes responsibilities such as conducting research, planning concepts, engaging with the community, managing consultants, and developing business cases and funding applications.
Position Objective
- To facilitate, and manage the establishment of public realm projects across the municipality (including research, concept planning, community engagement, management of consultants, development of business cases and funding applications)
- To coordinate multi-disciplinary planning, development and implementation of the open space program, as an integral part of Moonee Valley developing as a City of the Future. Focus will be on the delivery of the capital works program, through providing extensive project management. The projects will activate public open space, enhance the urban ecological environments and ensure sustainable and well considered built form outcomes.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams to plan for renewals and upgrades for open space across the municipality.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to prepare projects up to the point where they are ready for detailed design and construction.
Skills & Experience
- The skills and knowledge needed for entry to this Band are beyond those normally acquired through tertiary education alone.
- Typically, they would be gained through completion of a degree or diploma course with several years of subsequent relevant experience. They might also be acquired through higher formal qualifications either in the field of specialist expertise or in management, together with a shorter period of experience, or they might be acquired through lesser formal qualifications with extensive relevant experience.
- Previous experience working within a multi-skilled, high volume, customer driven environment.
- Degree or Diploma in the discipline of Landscape Architecture, or a different, relevant, Degree with significant experience in open space and public realm planning.
- High level interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain effective relationships with Council, the community, management and staff and the ability to resolve problems innovatively
- High level verbal and graphic presentation skills to communicate to a range of stakeholders
- Extensive experience in public realm design, community engagement, place activation with a proven record of demonstrating flexible and innovative responses in a changing environment
- Project management skills and demonstrated ability to deliver projects and services in a complex political environment on time, on budget and to a high standard
- Advanced use of AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office software
- High level technical skills with the ability to critically review and create guidelines, documentation, and specifications.
