Applications are invited for the appointment as Research Assistant I/II in the Department of Social Work and Social Administration (Ref.: 533243) (to commence as soon as possible, on a one-year temporary term with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)
Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or above in Social Sciences related discipline. They should also have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese), self-motivated, and the ability to work independently and as a team. Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative data analyses would be advantageous. . Fresh graduates are welcome to apply. Those with higher qualifications and/or more experience may be considered for appointment as Research Assistant I.
The appointees will join Professor Terry Lum’s research team to investigate ways to enhance trust and social cohesion in Asian settings. They will contribute to the development of localised social capital measurement tools and explore strategies to increase social support, cohesion, and collaboration among older adults, young adults and ethnically diverse communities in Hong Kong, with particular focus on how social capital influences health and well-being outcomes. They will be responsible for data collection, literature review, liaison with local NGOs, research data analysis, and performing other duties as assigned.
