As an Automation/Commissioning Engineer at Körber Supply Chain, you will ensure system functionality and performance by implementing controls that meet contractual obligations. You will support project managers in minimizing project risks and executing projects within budget. The role also involves assisting Project Managers and System Integration Managers with integration tasks for the overall material handling system and providing technical support to the organization. Your contributions will ensure all required functions are tested and accepted by the customer.
Key Responsibilities
The role involves leading PLC commissioning, documentation, and acceptance procedures as detailed in RIQO. You will conduct in-house iFAT testing and perform on-site work related to controls, such as I/O testing, Profinet setup, and function control. Additionally, you will document all controls-related tasks with precision and clarity, ensuring that the system’s functionality and performance align with the agreed specifications. Furthermore, you will obtain formal customer approval for functional and test specifications, as well as for the overall acceptance reports.
Technical Expertise Required
As a user of Siemens software, including safety programming, you have insight to drives such as frequency and servo drives. You are experienced in setting up networks, including Profinet and AS-i, and familiar in PLC programming languages like Ladder and STL. Insight to barcode readers, light grids, and networks is an advantage.
Performance Indicators
- • Scope: Achieve sold performance and availability figures.
- • Schedule: Meet or exceed agreed milestones (e.g., FAT, PAC, FAC).
- • Customer Satisfaction: Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
Main Interfaces of Cooperation & Communication
The position will require close collaboration with the Lead Automation Engineer, Project Managers & System Integration Managers, other departments within Project Execution, Customer Services & R&D Teams, and direct communication with Customers to ensure the successful implementation of control systems.
Qualifications & Requirements
The position requires a Diploma or Degree in Electrical, Controls, Software Engineering, or an equivalent field. You should have experience in Siemens programs and the ability to work with external devices and equipment.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
Additionally, a willingness to travel (more than 100 days per year) is required to this role.
