Job Description
The Staff Business Systems Analyst in Information Systems is a critical role that serves as the primary bridge between the Compliance department and the Information Technology (IT) organization. You will be responsible for ensuring that all global trade compliance requirements are effectively integrated into our systems, processes, and digital transformations. This includes leading compliance reviews for IT projects, managing and optimizing SAP Global Trade Services (GTS) software, e-Filing, and providing expert guidance to ensure automated processes are both efficient and compliant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the key subject matter expert (SME) for global trade compliance on all relevant IT and digitalization initiatives.
- Partner with IT, logistics, supply chain, and product development teams to design and implement trade-compliant solutions from the ground up.
- Lead/Participate in the compliance impact assessment and requirement gathering for new projects or upgrades, including e-commerce platforms, S4/GTS upgrades, and e-filing (ATLAS, Seeburger, etc.) and related integrated application.
- Develop and execute test scripts (UAT) to validate that systems correctly handle restricted party screening, classification determination, duty calculation, and other compliance checks.
- Troubleshoot and resolve daily operational issues related to trade compliance systems, working closely with end-users.
- Continuously analyse system performance and data integrity to identify opportunities for automation, process improvement, and enhanced compliance controls.
- Provide expert advice and training to internal stakeholders on how to use compliance systems effectively.
- Support audits and internal assessments by providing system-generated data and evidence of compliant processes.
- Develop and maintain documentation for system procedures and configurations.
Qualifications
- Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent
- 5+ years of direct experience in global trade compliance, with a strong focus on the intersection of compliance and SAP knowledge.
- Hands-on experience implementing, configuring, or supporting a SAP Global Trade Services (GTS).
- Strong business process and analytical skills with the ability to assimilate information quickly and communicate complex requirements and issues clearly and concisely. The ability to understand the business questions that users are trying to answer is essential.
- Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interact and communicate effectively with all levels of management, users and vendors
- Must be a self-starter and able to work independently with minimum supervision
- Must be a good team player, proactive in nature, fast learner, highly organized and positive attitude
Technology Proficiency:
Certification in SAP will be an added advantage.
