Job Summary

The Junior Business Manager for Global Markets Division APAC will assist the Local Business manager, GMD Asia and the Regional GMD Management team in their managerial roles and facilitate GMD’s interactions with the rest of the Bank, handling and coordinating projects and initiatives when appropriate, as well as the operational administration of GMD businesses in the Region.

Responsibilities

  • Help to drive Global Markets Division Asia support projects as overseen by the Business manager SEA & India, with a special emphasis of ensuring adequacy of our trading platforms and supports for the development of our trading and sales activities in the region:
  • Representing GMD Singapore and Asia in all relevant Committees whenever needed and agreed by GMD Regional COO or Singapore GMD Management
  • Help provide and develop new ideas to optimize costs.
  • Help develop business for GMD Asia, and thus work closely with both the trading teams and the sales team, and act as a pivot in this regard
  • Coordination with Control and Support Functions related to Trading & Sales activities, locally, regionally and globally
  • Coordination of compliance issues and follow-up
  • Coordination of IT related projects
  • Coordination of Business continuity planning
  • Clearing projects, coordination for Trading and Sales
  • Regulatory filings, coordination for Trading and Sales
  • Coordination of Policies & Procedures

Control

  • Co-ordinate and streamline the operations of and controls within Global Markets Division environment and ensure these are adequate and documented.
  • Resolve, in the suggested timeframe, any recommendations made by internal or external auditors or regulators.

Legal and Regulatory Responsibilities

  • Comply with all applicable legal, regulatory and internal Compliance requirements, including, but not limited to, the Hong Kong Compliance manual and the Financial Crime Policy. Complete any mandatory training in line with legal, regulatory and internal Compliance requirements.
  • Maintain appropriate knowledge to ensure to be fully qualified to undertake the role. Complete all mandatory training as required to attain and maintain competence.
  • Refrain from taking any steps which could lead to the removal of certification of fitness and properness to perform the role.
  • Undertake all necessary steps to satisfy the annual certification process.
  • Comply with all applicable conduct rules as prescribed by the relevant regulator.

Role Requirements

  • Degree, preferably in a Mathematical / Scientific area, or A-levels followed by appropriate market relevant working experience.
  • Organizational and coordination skills, with good knowledge of Capital Markets activities environment, IT systems, compliance, products as well as related Control and Support Functions
  • Excellent communication skills and able to coordinate effectively with other Senior Managers, Sales, Structurers, Quants.
  • Good knowledge of financial derivatives, regulations, and the Bank's procedures.
