About The Role

MacKillop Family Services is seeking an experienced Residential House Supervisor to join our Out of Home Care program (OOHC).

MacKillop’s Out of Home Care (OOHC) programs provide a safe, supportive and therapeutic environment for children and young people with high and complex needs. Through residential care, home-based care, lead tenant arrangements and case management, we work alongside Child Protection to create positive pathways for young people.

As a House Supervisor, you will lead a dedicated team of Residential Care Workers, ensuring the day-to-day care and support provided to young people is consistent, safe and empowering. This role is an important part of our Out of Home Care (OOHC) program and reports directly to the Residential Care Coordinator.

We have multiple opportunities across our Southern Metro Out of Home Care (OOHC) Program. Our Southern services span from the inner-seaside suburbs of Melbourne to the Mornington Peninsula. The position of House Supervisor reports to the Residential Care Coordinator.

Key Selection Criteria

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Relevant Bachelor Degree with experience including four (4) additional mandatory competencies (Residential Care Skill Set); or Relevant Diploma with substantial experience including four (4) additional mandatory competencies (Residential Care Skill Set).
  • Substantial leadership experience within Residential Care, specifically Out of Home Care (OOHC) for children and young people.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise, lead and support a team of Residential Care Workers.
  • Proven ability to relate to and work with children and young people who may experience social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.
  • Ability to participate collaboratively and constructively within teams of peers, staff and other stakeholders, as well as initiative and effective personal judgement when working alone.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the residential care field, particularly within a therapeutic environment.

  • Remuneration - Hourly Rate of $51.00 to $53.31 as outlined in the SCHCADS Award Level 5, dependent on qualifications and experience.

You Must Have A:

  • Valid and current Driver’s Licence;
  • Satisfactory Criminal History Check (paid for by MacKillop);
  • Valid Employee Working with Children Check;
  • Valid and current NDIS Workers Screening Check (for risk assessed / client facing roles).
  • Completion of four (4) additional mandatory competencies (Residential Care Skill Set)
