The Tax and Treasury Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of tax compliance and treasury operations for the Cook & Boardman Group. This role will oversee tax strategy, planning, and reporting to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws. Additionally, the manager will handle cash flow management, banking relationships, debt compliance, and liquidity optimization to support the company’s financial health and growth objectives.
Essential Functions:
Tax Management
• Oversee all aspects of tax compliance, including income, sales/use, property, and other business taxes.
• Coordinate and manage the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns (through internal resources and external advisors).
• Ensure compliance with evolving tax laws and regulations; monitor changes and assess their impact on the business.
• Develop and implement tax planning strategies to optimize tax efficiency.
• Manage audits and inquiries from tax authorities.
• Manage accounts and filing requirements with various tax authorities.
• Maintain accurate tax records and documentation.
Treasury Management
• Oversee daily cash positioning, cash flow forecasting, and liquidity management.
• Manage short-term investments, credit facilities, and debt compliance, when applicable.
• Establish and maintain strong banking relationships and negotiate favorable terms when needed.
• Implement and maintain treasury controls and processes to mitigate financial risk.
• Evaluate and recommend opportunities to improve working capital efficiency.
Leadership & Collaboration
• Partner with finance, accounting, and operations teams to ensure accurate and timely tax and treasury reporting.
• Manage relationships with external tax advisors, auditors, and financial institutions.
• Support M&A activities by performing tax due diligence and treasury integration planning.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in corporate tax, treasury, or a related finance role.
• Experience in multi-state tax compliance and planning required.
• Experience with treasury management systems (TMS) and ERP systems (e.g., MS Dynamics) a plus.
• Strong technical knowledge of U.S. federal and state tax laws and treasury operations.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. While performing the duties of this role, the employee will regularly communicate verbally and in writing, and must be able to see and hear in a typical office setting. The role frequently involves sitting, walking, standing, using hands to handle or feel, and reaching with arms and hands.
Work Environment
This position operates primarily in a professional office environment. It routinely involves the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, copiers, and filing systems. Occasional business travel may be required.
