As a Principal Technical Program Manager in Digital Channels and Connectivity within Payments Technology, you will lead a team of Program Managers. The team is responsible for the success of a portfolio of complex, multi-functional technology projects and programs that impact experiences for clients, employees, and stakeholders across the firm. You will establish standards and governance for all project managers within Digital Channels and Connectivity. Your advanced analytical reasoning and adaptability will enable you to break down business, technical, and operational objectives into manageable tasks, navigate ambiguity, and drive change. With demonstrated technical fluency, you will manage resources, budgets, and cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions aligned with the firm’s strategic goals. Your exceptional communication and influencing skills will foster productive stakeholder relationships, ensuring alignment and effective risk management. In this pivotal role, you will contribute to the development of new policies and processes, shaping the future of our technology landscape and enabling highly effective and efficient delivery to maximize client outcomes.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic technical program plans that align with organizational goals and promote cross-functional collaboration
  • Oversee the execution of complex technology projects and programs, managing resources, budgets, and timelines while mitigating risks and resolving roadblocks
  • Foster strong relationships with stakeholders, clients, and cross-functional teams, providing direction and defining decision-making procedures to achieve beneficial outcomes
  • Guide the selection and implementation of appropriate technologies, platforms, and software tools by leveraging advanced technical fluency
  • Champion continuous improvement by identifying process optimization opportunities, incorporating best practices, and staying current with emerging technologies
  • Establish clear expectations and success factors for all Program and Project Managers within Digital Channels and Connectivity
  • Partner with multiple Product Management teams to deliver complex projects and establish governance processes
  • Collaborate with engineering managers to deliver high-quality deliverables and features
  • Lead a community of project and program managers, setting a high standard for excellence

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 7+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in technical program management, leading complex technology projects and programs in large organizations
  • Demonstrated proficiency in technical solutions, vendor product knowledge, managing vendor relations, and implementing solutions
  • Advanced analytical reasoning skills, with the ability to apply critical thinking and problem-solving techniques to break down business, technical, and operational objectives
  • Proven ability to lead through change, manage dependencies, and control change in high-pressure, dynamic environments
  • Advanced expertise in stakeholder management, building productive relationships, and driving outcomes aligned with firm objectives
  • Experience with Agile processes and practices such as SAFe (PI Planning, ART Syncs, PO Syncs), Spotify Model (Chapters, Guilds), etc.
  • Proficiency in using Jira to manage large programs
  • Close partnership with the Portfolio Management and Transformation function within Digital Channels & Connectivity to execute change management and transformational initiatives within delivery

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience working in regulatory-influenced industries (financial services, healthcare, etc.)
  • Understanding of Payment and Treasury Services business
  • 15+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in technical program management, leading complex technology projects and programs in large organizations
