As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Infrastructure Platforms team, you are an integral part of an agile team dedicated to enhancing, building, and delivering trusted, market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner.

Job Responsibilities

  • Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
  • Join our team of innovators to create next-level solutions that improve the way our business is run.
  • Demonstrate hands-on knowledge in system design, application development, and testing.
  • Solve complex technical issues, develop integration elements, and build data models, APIs, and open 3rd-party SDKs.
  • Implement and adhere to resiliency patterns.
  • Leverage our global network of technologists to tackle big challenges
  • Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
  • Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
  • Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
  • Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • Proven experience in application design and development, translating business offerings into technical specifications and articulating business impact.
  • Proficient in Python, Django, and TCP/IP Socket programming, with strong automated testing skills.
  • Solid understanding of Celery and asynchronous APIs for scalable application development.
  • Strong grasp of algorithms, data structures, and microservices architecture.
  • Experience with Groovy/Java for Jenkins (Jules) scripted pipelines and CI/CD lifecycle management.
  • Expertise in Linux/Unix operating systems, including Bash and Korn shell scripting.
  • Good understanding of RDMS databases and their integration within applications.
  • Familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and best practices for lifecycle management.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies, including Kanban and Sprint project management and development modes.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and a collaborative team-oriented approach.
  Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Working knowledge of Domain Driven Design, load balancing, and Behavior Driven Design principles.
  • Basic understanding of NoSQL databases such as Cassandra.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, GAP, APIGEE, and various cloud services.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team effectively.
