As an Individual Contributor, this role supports the implementation and maintenance of the bank’s data governance framework. This role focuses on applying data policies, monitoring data quality, maintaining metadata and dashboards, and supporting compliance efforts. It works across departments to ensure data is accurate, secure, and used responsibly.

  • Policy Implementation: Applies data governance policies and standards across departments; identifies gaps and recommends improvements to senior staff.
  • Data Stewardship Support: Collaborates with data stewards to ensure consistent data definitions and usage; maintain stewardship documentation.
  • Data Quality Execution: Conducts data validation, cleansing, and monitoring activities; investigates and escalates data quality issues.
  • Compliance & Risk Tracking: Supports risk assessments, controls testing, and audits readiness; maintains issue logs and resolution tracking.
  • Metadata & Classification Maintenance: Maintains and enhances the data catalog and classification schema; ensure metadata accuracy.
  • Dashboard Reporting: Builds and maintains data governance dashboards; ensures metrics are accurate, actionable, and aligned with business needs.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Prepares and delivers updates to department leads and governance committees; translates technical findings into business-relevant insights.
  • Training Coordination: Assists in developing and delivering training materials; promotes data responsibility across teams.
  • Technology Enablement: Partners with IT to support the rollout and maintenance of data governance tools; provides user feedback and testing support.
  • Performs other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor’s degree in information management, business, finance, or related field. Equivalent work experience or certification(s) may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in data governance, data management, or compliance, preferably in the financial services industry.
  • Working knowledge of banking regulations and data privacy laws.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
