Fanatics Betting & Gaming is looking for a strategic PR & Communications Lead to manage day-to-day external communications efforts, help design and launch programs which educate media and consumers on the business and drive positive brand perception. This role requires strong writing skills, expertise in media relations, project management, and organizational skills. The successful candidate will be a resourceful initiative-taker and team player who is adept at quickly shifting gears in an ambiguous and demanding environment and can naturally work across several internal teams.
Role
- Serve as the day-to-day communications lead for the business
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key media – both traditional and social/digitally led outlets across sports, gaming, business, technology and lifestyle / entertainment sectors
- Collaborate with additional in-house Fanatics PR leads and external partners to amplify the company's message and initiatives, including how Fanatics Betting & Gaming fits within the larger Fanatics ecosystem
- Proactively seek opportunities for positive media coverage and respond effectively to inquiries
- Craft clear and compelling written messaging to advance Fanatics Betting & Gaming’s company narrative and key developments
- Sustain and enhance the company's reputation by proactively supporting reputation risk issues to minimize the impact on business success and build public trust
- Manage media relations on reactive issues, including drafting statements / responses and providing background information
- Remain acutely attuned to all forms of media coverage for initiative-taking planning
- Support executive visibility programming, including securing speaking engagements, events, proactively managing opportunities, timelines, and more
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Legal, Customer Experience, and other key functions to align communication efforts with business objectives
- Partner closely with internal communications to ensure cohesive messaging across the business
- Regularly analyze and report on the impact of PR and communications strategies, making data-driven recommendations for improvement
Skills & Experience
- 7-9 years of public relations or communications experience
- Excellent writing skills, including stellar grammar and creative approaches to external communications
- Experience in sports and gaming industries is highly preferred; working with tech press a plus
- Experience in media relations, executive visibility, issues/crisis management and improving challenging narratives
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex issues and quickly shift priorities to managing day-to-day issues, while setting and meeting strict deadlines
- Exceptional attention to detail while navigating a fast-paced, high-growth organization
- Outstanding organizational skills, highly adept at prioritizing, multi-tasking and time management
- Initiative-taker and independently motivated
Open to regular travel to events and other Fanatics offices for various offsite and team meetings
Salary range is listed in USD; ranges will change based on country and state of residence, which are reflected in Geographical Zones defined by Fanatics Betting and Gaming. *Salary Range: $135,000 to $160,000 (Salary range incorporates all of our Geographical Compensation Zones and is subject to change as the Zone associated with the actual Offer is confirmed).
