Job Summary

This is a fast-paced position requiring a dynamic sales support professional. In this role, you will work closely with our sales team, vendor partners and other internal departments to ensure all customer enrollments and retention efforts are efficiently and seamlessly completed. Under direct supervision, you will provide operational (system), billing, customer support and sales support administration assistance to our B2B sales team. Must have strong communication, organizational and time management skills; CRM and billing system experience; ability to multi-task and support multiple sales reps; and strong problem-solving skills.

Please note, this is an hourly non-exempt position that may be filled as a Coordinator, Sales (Level 5) or Coordinator Sr, Sales (Level 7). Individuals who demonstrate advanced skills in terms of work experience and education may be eligible for the advanced grade. 

Job Responsibilities

Functional Expertise:

  • Assist in coordinating B2B transactions for sales team, including the accurate and timely processing of customer gas agreements, renewals, terminations and pricing for customer accounts in the CRM and billing systems.
  • Coordinates, maintains and generates reports in support of B2B sales, including sales force performance, sales promotions and incentives. Such reports may include upcoming renewals, sales contract exceptions, gain/loss, delinquency, bankruptcy, tax exempt, billing adjustments and incentive payouts.
  • Support sales team on pre and post-sales work, including preparing customer presentations, RFPs and other collateral.
  • Perform special project assignments for sales team and upper management, and generate and provide various ad hoc reports and data analysis as needed.
  • Inbound/outbound phone call support with sales team and customers, requesting/receiving critical information relevant to reps and other departments' needs.
  • Responsible for maintaining and updating the department’s policy and procedures manual, related to functional role.

Business Acumen:

  • Prioritizes customer issues and escalates to manager or other department(s) as appropriate
  • Understand the markets we serve so market trends and possible system enhancements can be identified

Engagement:

  • Coordinate with various external sales, call center, billing and local distribution company partners to ensure customers are enrolled and all account related questions are answered
  • Deals with customers as needed to handle daily issues and interacts with internal departments and external vendors to ensure all customer issues are resolved in a timely and satisfactory manner

Driving Results:

  • Manages SSE’s customer relationship management (CRM) system to ensure that the required customer account information is complete and entered in a timely and accurate manner

Qualifications

Education, Certifications/Licenses and Related Work Experience:

(Level 5):

Required:

  • Associate’s degree or 4 years applicable work experience

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years’ experience in sales or service industry environment

Specific Skills & Knowledge:

Required:

  • Strong communication skills; ability to communicate in a positive and professional manner with customers, co-workers and vendors
  • Highly service and results oriented
  • Intermediate to proficient in MS-Excel and Word 
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks effectively
  • Ability to work independently yet operate effectively as a team player.
  • Self-motivated
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Problem solving and knowledge providing a high level of customer service

Preferred:

  • Working knowledge accounting and sales force automation (SFA) systems (i.e. Salesforce, Siebel, etc.) and billing systems
  • Working knowledge of call centers

(Level 7):

Required:

  • Associate’s degree or 6-9 years applicable work experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in sales or service industry environment

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10+ years’ experience in sales or service industry environment

Specific Skills & Knowledge:

Required:

  • Strong communication skills; ability to communicate in a positive and professional manner with customers, coworkers and vendors
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with B2B markets, systems and processes
  • Highly service and results oriented
  • Intermediate to proficient in MS-Excel and Word 
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks effectively
  • Ability to work independently yet operate effectively as a team player member and take a leadership role within the team.
