As a Corporate Banking Credit Analyst, you will support a group of Portfolio Managers by preparing analyses of commercial borrowers, including spreading financial statements for straightforward credits. You will be responsible for completing written summaries of industry issues, industry research and writeups, and preparing relationship data for existing commercial customers or prospects. Additionally, you will support activities associated with credit file maintenance, compliance and annual review activities for a variety of credits.

Primary Responsibilities Include

  • Audits credit files to ensure that all necessary documents are present and up to date.
  • Prepares and submits internal reporting/compliance documents and reporting for assigned portfolio.
  • Completes written summaries of industry issues and information.
  • Assists with processing loan modifications, tracks and collects financial reporting, covenant compliance, collateral requirements.
  • Confirms the accuracy of risk ratings and changes as warranted.
  • Is able to develop solutions and alternative to modifications, including financial covenant structuring.
  • Works diligently in support of assigned credits to present information in an organized manner.
  • Assists with managing the existing portfolio of straight forward credits/customers through verification and analysis of financial and collateral information.
  • Completes the CPS, terms and conditions and appendices, cash flow coverage, collateral coverage worksheets, spreads, risk rating and profitability models for assigned credits for straightforward loans (generally a type of credit which does not issue public.
  • financials, is not highly levered, does not include an asset securitization, nor rely on Enterprise Value).
  • Prepares relationship data on commercial customers/prospects and accurately identifies total bank exposure.
  • May support a particular group of PMs in support of the activities noted above for straight forward credits.
  • Exhibits ability to interpret financial statements and draw conclusions based on the analysis completed and can summarize findings to PM or RM.

Qualifications, Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; advanced coursework or certifications in credit analysis or commercial banking preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial statements and assess creditworthiness.
  • Proficiency in preparing financial spreads, risk ratings, profitability models, and cash flow/collateral coverage worksheets for straightforward commercial credits.
  • Familiarity with industry research and the ability to summarize key issues and trends in written form.
  • Detail-oriented with experience auditing credit files and ensuring compliance with internal reporting standards.
  • Ability to support loan modifications, track financial reporting, and monitor covenant and collateral compliance.
  • Demonstrated capability to prepare relationship data and accurately identify total bank exposure for commercial customers and prospects.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with Portfolio Managers and summarize findings clearly.
  • Organized and proactive in managing credit file maintenance, annual reviews, and documentation for a variety of credits.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with a commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.

  • Hours per Week: 40
