Job Description
What You'Ll Do:
ODH is seeking to fill an Administrative Professional 2 position within the Bureau of Environmental Health and Radiation Protection. This position will provide routine administrative support, make recommendations regarding program activities and assist in developing new procedures related to established program policy. This position will:
- develop, implement, and maintain tracking of program activities (e.g., products approval schedules, transmittals and registration schedules, survey schedules)
- provide office support (e.g., processes transmittals, schedules appointments and meeting spaces, takes meeting notes, updates databases, makes copies of documents for staff, and mails or faxes documents)
- composes routine correspondence, drafts/types confidential correspondence, charts, graphs using word processing, and presentation software (e.g., Microsoft Word, PowerPoint) and prepares documents for mailing (e.g., correspondence, letters, Director letters, certificates)
- coordinate development of records retention schedules, optimize data entry and filing procedures and assist program staff in data entry and document filing
- aid supervisor in reviewing and processing purchase requisitions (e.g., numeric accuracy, contract compliance, appropriate signatures)
- requisition equipment and supplies through agency purchasing agent or established vendors and complete encumbrances for fiscal expenditures (e.g., purchase requisitions and purchase orders)
- answer program telephones and respond to program inquiries and complaints from the public and program stakeholders (e.g., contractors, installers, water haulers)

Qualifications
Position Qualifications:
- 18 mos. exp. or 18 mos. trg. in secretarial/administrative professional field.
- -Or completion of associate core coursework in secretarial science or business office applications from accredited career school or community college.
- -Or 6 mos. exp. as Administrative Professional 1, 16871.
- -Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.

- Associate or advanced degree in secretarial science, business office administration, or office management
- Experience in conducting analysis of data, defining problems and drawing valid conclusions

ALL ANSWERS TO THE SUPPLEMENTAL QUESTIONS MUST BE SUPPORTED BY THE WORK EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION PROVIDED ON YOUR CIVIL SERVICE APPLICATION.
Unless required by legislation, the selected candidate will begin at Pay Grade 28, Step 1 of the OCSEA union Pay Range Schedule ($22.96 per hour), with an opportunity for pay increase after six months ($23.56) of satisfactory performance and then a yearly raise thereafter.
