Temple University's Community Engagement Department is searching for a Part Time Assistant Program Coordinator!

Salary Range: $15.38-$20.00/hr

Position Summary
The University Community Collaborative (UCC) is looking to hire a part-time assistant program coordinator for POPPYN, a youth-produced TV news show and media-based program for high school students.  This position involves working closely with the current program coordinator to ensure the smooth operation of the day-to-day tasks.

The ideal candidate is passionate about youth development, media literacy, production, and community engagement. Performs other duties as assigned.
 

The UCC, housed in the College of Liberal Arts at Temple University, is a grant funded initiative that provides leadership development programming for high school students in Philadelphia. Programming is provided on Temple’s campus in North Philadelphia. Weekly hours will be approximately 20 hours.

  • *This is a Grant funded position.
  • *This position requires the following background checks: criminal history review, child abuse clearance and FBI fingerprinting.
  • Required Education and Experience
  • *Bachelor’s degree in Media, Film, Communications, Journalism or related field.
  • *At least six (6) months of related experience. 
  • *Youth media and/or youth development experience.
  • *Experience with digital media production.
  • *Outreach and communications experience.
  • *An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Preferred Education and Experience
*Prior experience with the University-Community Collaborative.
 

  • Required Skills and Abilities
  • *Knowledge of Philly youth development and media landscape
  • *High comfort level with content creation, web design, and social media
  • *Must be computer literate in Windows operating environment including Microsoft Office® programs and related equipment (database, spread sheet, and word-processing software, monitor, keyboard, etc.);
  • *Facilitation experience with large groups
  • *Effective communication, collaboration and relationship building skills
  • *Strong problem-solving skills
  • *Strategic thinking
  • *Ability to research current events.
  • *Project management skills.
