Salary Range: $15.38-$20.00/hr
Position Summary
Research Assistant sought by the Social Developmental Neuroscience Laboratory (PI Dr. Johanna Jarcho), to begin in October 2025. Research in the Social Developmental Neuroscience Lab focuses on the neural mechanisms that shape social cognition, or increase risk for and expression of deficits in social competence linked to psychopathology www.sdnlaboratory.com
The applicants will participate in numerous aspects of research (e.g., recruiting, screening participants, study design and implementation, preprocessing and analysis of behavioral and neuroimaging data, preparation of publications), contribute to day-to-day operations of the labs (e.g., various administrative duties, oversight of volunteer RAs, IRB management), and perform other duties as assigned. These positions are ideal for highly motivated individuals who plan to apply to graduate school in psychology or related fields. Performs other duties as assigned. .

- *This position is Grant funded.
- *This position requires the following background checks: Access to Confidential or Sensitive Personal Identifiable Information, criminal history review, child abuse clearance and FBI fingerprinting.
Required Education and Experience
*Bachelor’s degree obtained by start date
*At least 6 months (prior to degree) of experience directly related to this position. *Experience in a lab within a psychiatry, psychology, or human development department is required.
*Experience with participant recruitment and retention. This includes community outreach, engaging families during ongoing research, and following up with families who may not be immediately responsive to requests to continue with longitudinal research.
*Experience with overseeing others. This includes some management of others in the context of volunteer work, sports/extracurricular activities, or employment.
*Experience using REDCap.
*An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Preferred Education and Experience
- *Working with statistical computing software (e.g., R, SPSS)
- *Collecting data from children
- *Interfacing with clinical populations
Required Skills and Abilities
*Demonstrated interpersonal, communication and collaborative skills. This includes successful completion of group projects, working in teams, ongoing employment or related success in the context of working with a supervisor.
*Some prior experience working on NIH-funded studies. This includes being a volunteer or paid research assistant on NIH-funded studies.
*Ability to oversee data collection to ensure that all eligible participants are enrolled and complete all visits associated with the study.
