Position Summary

The Steward plays an important role in supporting the smooth operation of kitchen production and maintaining hygiene standards across all food preparation and back-of-house areas. Reporting to the Chief Steward, this position is part of the wider kitchen operations team.

You will assist in ensuring the cleanliness and organization of all kitchen and stewarding areas, including those serving our Food and Beverage Outlets (Booking Office, MI+ME, and The Hansom), In-Room Dining, Event Operations, and the associate dining room. Your contribution helps maintain a consistent, high-quality environment that supports the culinary team and enhances the overall guest experience.

Responsibilities: Here's what your journey with us entails

  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in all kitchen and back-of-house areas.
  • Supervise stewarding team to ensure standards are consistently met.
  • Monitor and record fridge and freezer temperatures; rotate stock using FIFO.
  • Ensure proper storage of food and beverage items.
  • Follow cleaning schedules and respond to urgent cleaning needs.
  • Adhere to health, safety, and hygiene regulations, including PPE usage.
  • Support kitchen operations during food preparation and service.
  • Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing areas and equipment.
  • Comply with company policies, procedures, and loss prevention measures.
  • Assist with training and support of team members.
  • Perform additional duties as requested by management.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry, preferably in a luxury hotel environment.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels. 
  • Detail-oriented with a passion for delivering excellence in customer service.
  • Knowledge of the overall hotel operations is essential for this role to understand the part you play in the wider guest experience.
  • L2 Food Hygiene is preferred, and you should work towards achieving this if you don’t hold a certification already.
