About the role:

We're looking for a Data Team Support Manager to lead and inspire our talented support squad in the Business Intelligence Systems domain. Our team of Support Developers and Analysts, located in the UK and Sri Lanka, is the backbone of our data operations, and we need a strategic manager who can help them thrive.

This is a key leadership position with a strong focus on both people and processes. You'll be responsible for ensuring our data support is not only effective but also a key driver of business value.
 

What You'll Be Doing
 

  • Line managing and coaching a distributed team of Support Developers and Analysts, fostering a high-performing and collaborative culture.
  • Monitoring and resolving overnight ETL batch failures, ensuring business analysts have accurate and robust data available each morning.
  • Ensuring quality and governance processes are followed across the team, maintaining the integrity and reliability of our data.
  • Proactively identifying opportunities to improve our data monitoring and alerting systems, helping us anticipate and prevent issues before they impact the business.
  • Acting as the key point of contact for our stakeholders, ensuring their data-related issues are prioritized and resolved effectively.
  • Developing and communicating key performance indicators (KPIs) around incident resolution to drive continuous improvement and transparency.
  • Co-ordinating and implementing key events in the data domain, ensuring seamless execution and effective collaboration across teams.
  • Responding to business demands for greater analytical and reporting capabilities, enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.
  • Managing and controlling the team's budget, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently to meet business needs.
  • Championing professional development and career growth for your direct reports.  

About you: 


Technical Skills & Experience
 

We're looking for someone who is comfortable in a modern data environment, ideally with some exposure to systems support. Our team works with the following technologies, so experience with some or all of them is highly desirable:
 

  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • Databricks
  • Microsoft Azure
  • Active Batch
