The position of Mine Maintenance Superintendent is responsible for oversight and leadership for the following Mine Maintenance Areas: Shovels, Drills, Crushing & Conveying, Dust Collection and Garage.
- General oversight and responsibility for the following Mine Maintenance areas: Shovels, Drills, Crushing & Conveying, Dust Collection and Garage.
- Provide leadership and direction to Foreman in the Mine Maintenance areas
- Lead and hold all areas and equipment accountable to meet or exceed availability and efficiency metrics and standards
- Responsible for creating and maintaining monthly and annual budgets. Provide explanation to areas that exceed or fall below monthly and annual expectations.
- Lead the team in developing predictive maintenance programs for all areas. Improve and ensure the ongoing maintenance program for all large equipment is designed to achieve the greatest possible availabilities.
- Ensure incident investigations are handled appropriately, consistently and conducted as needed.
- Provide root cause analysis for any major component premature failures
- Responsible for development of technical training programs within each major area of responsibility
- Ensures mine safety policies and procedures are being implemented, and employees are held accountable to all standards.
- Responsible for maintaining vendor relationships. Manage service levels, parts availability, appropriate and fair pricing and budgeting is met.
- Support ongoing mine maintenance projects and continuous improvement projects as necessary. Ensure Equipment Asset Management (EAM) is completed throughout appropriate areas.
- Develop, implement, and maintain safe work procedures and promote safety, health and environmental awareness.
- Ensure personnel are thoroughly inducted into working areas and trained to complete all tasks.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field is highly preferred.
- 10+ years of mine maintenance experience preferred
- Proven experience within the areas of reliability and root cause analysis preferred
- 5 or more years experience leading and developing teams required.
- Advanced computer skills.
- Willingness to work outside of regular business hours due to our 24x7 environment.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize competing objectives.
