Microsoft Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO+I) is the team behind the cloud.  Within CO+I, the Core Datacenter Services (DCS) team is responsible for the development and implementation of global strategies across our Datacenters (DCs).

As a Datacenter Efficiency Program Manager, you will be responsible for managing initiatives launched to our DC Ops Field.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to execute on a portfolio of projects, including the project plan, timelines, milestones, financial management, performance metrics, and/or resource needs for programs with the goal to maximize efficiency and optimization in our Datacenters (DCs).

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Datacenter Efficiency Program Manager to join our dynamic team. The candidate will have a proven track record in managing programs in a complex environment.  As a Datacenter Efficiency Program Manager, you will play a key role in executing on plans that will impact our multi-year priorities in the team.

Business Program Excellence and Execution

Maintain the rhythm of business (ROB) during plan execution to ensure participants and stakeholders are communicating and responding according to the necessary cadence.

Independently work across teams to ensure all program requirements are understood and can be met.

Business Program Management

Communicates the program status to relevant stakeholders and hold them accountable for following the established schedule, risk mitigation plans and processes, with minimal guidance.

Help develop processes around scope and scheduled changes for programs, and communicate to stakeholders

Business Program Planning and Design

Support and contribute to define and tracks the success criteria and performance metrics (Objectives and Key Results [OKRs]) for the projects being launched.

Understands and identify current program risks, impact, and mitigation plans, in collaboration with others.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or related field AND 4+ years experience in program management, process management, or process improvement
  • 2+ years of project management experience
  • OR equivalent experience.
 

Background Check Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
  Additional or preferred qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or related field AND 6+ years experience in program management, process management, or process improvement
  • Professional experience in a critical environment (e.g datacenter, hospital, etc.)
  • OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or related field AND 8+ years experience in program management, process management, or process improvement
  • OR equivalent experience.
 

Business Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $96,500 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $123,500 - $206,400 per year.
