We are looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager to help build the most reliable & efficient datacenter infrastructure on the planet. The CO+I Global Unified Technology Systems (GUTS) team delivers end-to-end systems, business intelligence, and automation to support Microsoft’s Core Datacenter Services (CDS) team. CDS is helping to drive CO+I’s transition to a Customer centric, data driven, live service culture.

As a Senior Technical Program Manager on our team, you will not only work on the lates in cloud computing, but you will be hands-on transforming Microsoft’s most critical business through investigation, data analysis, and automation.

  • This role is located either in one or all hub locations - Atlanta, GA, Washington, D.C., Redmond, WA, San Antonio, TX or Phoenix, AZ. 
  • Relocation support will be provided, and successful candidates must ​relocate or reside within 50 miles of the hub office location. 
  • This role is eligible for hybrid or remote work, up to 3 days. 

Responsibilities

  • Defines and communicates the product strategy including the overarching scope, prioritized requirements, business goals, and outcomes to be delivered
  • Leads defining and driving the vision of an integrated system that supports end-to-end service delivery for multiple stakeholders
  • Analyzes multiple technical solutions and determines the best option for delivering on the objective key results of the business
  • Uses experience to identify and resolve platform, system, deployment, and environmental issues prior to production to ensure on-time release and successful customer adoption
  • Monitors and evaluates results to ensure outcomes are met successfully; reports clearly, concisely, and consistently with stakeholders on progress and as well as problems and solutions all the way up to the executive level
  • Implements and manages risk when necessary to meet project objectives and key results
  • Triages problems and prioritizes resolution effectively against the backlog of items with engineering
  • Provides leadership within the business by developing innovative methods for measuring the customer experience, and uses this data to identify and drive improvements

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
  • 2+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • 3+ years’ experience working in environments that use cloud technologies.
  • 3+ years’ building solutions with software to support operations of the business.
  • OR equivalent experience.

Background Check Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional Or Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
  • 6+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • 1+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).
  • 1+ years experience in data center operations (IT or Critical Environments)
  • Certification or equivalent experience applying Lean, Six Sigma, PMI, PMP, or other process improvement and project management methodologies. Experience with other applicable frameworks also a plus.  
  • Ability to facilitate change management. Awareness of IT Service Operations fundamentals (ITIL, MOF, OLA/SLA, CSI, etc.) an added benefit. 
  • Previous experience with MS Cloud Services and Platforms (e.g. Azure, Office 365, Dynamics 365, Microsoft Power Platform, Azure DevOps, etc.). 
  • Experience with reporting and data analysis systems & platforms (e.g. PowerBI). 
  • Experience with developing and implementing organizational frameworks, standards, and processes. 
  • Excellent communicator that can interact with diverse groups across organizational levels. 
  • OR equivalent experience.

Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
