As a Security Area Specialist in the Early in Career Program (EIP), you will learn about Microsoft security offering and value proposition directly from top-notch field sellers at Microsoft.  As you progress in the role, you will learn how to play a pivotal role in empowering our customers through the unique value of the Microsoft Cloud. You will drive the day-to-day execution of our strategic business priorities – selling best-in-class cloud services and platforms to our managed customers and building digital transformation momentum for our customers, partners, and Microsoft. 

As a Solution Area Specialist, you will discover and qualify new leads. You will help drive consumption with new and existing customers. This opportunity will allow you to identify market and customer needs and collaborate with internal teams to devise solutions to meet those needs. You will help orchestrate deals across multiple stakeholder groups including partners as well as position Microsoft solutions in competitive landscape through research and collaboration. You will utilize your industry expertise to differentiate Microsoft solutions and help develop and manage pipeline for territory and forecast resource needs as well as meet with customers on site to deepen relationships and solution development.

Responsibilities

You will reach out to peers and senior team members within the subsidiary to gain technical knowledge in the security solution area and learn about the direct competitors for the assigned products, solutions, and/or services. By doing this, the security specialist role will help you gain expertise and knowledge in the areas below:

    • Sales Execution: You will collaborate with virtual team members to identify customer business needs and contribute to the development of solutions.  Proactively build an external stakeholder network to and implement strategies to accelerate and close Security opportunities.
    • Business Value Selling: Hunt new Security opportunities by identifying and engaging with key business contacts, understanding customers’ business and technology priorities, governance, decision and budget processes, and landing the value proposition.
    • Technical Expertise: You will initiate Security discussions with business decision makers conversations, share best practices and key competitor knowledge across solution areas acting as a subject matter expert to make recommendations on pursuit or withdrawal.
    • Sales Excellence: You will collaborate with partners and resources to plan for accounts, do compete plans, forecasting, and business analysis to pursue high-potential customers
    • Help grow Microsoft’s culture priorities: work with peers and the organization to deliver excellence in culture. Our priorities are Diverse and Inclusive, Wellbeing, Sustainability, Giving and Learning.
    • Showcase a learning mentality: Demonstrate a willingness to invest in your personal learning in the Cybersecurity arena.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications (Rqs)

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, or related field AND 2+ years of technology-related sales or account management experience
  • OR 3+ years of technology-related sales or account management experience.
  • OR equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications (Pqs)

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, or related field AND 3+ years of technology-related sales or account management work experience
  • OR 4+ years of technology-related sales or account management experience. 

Digital Solution Area Specialists IC2 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $25.91 - $51.20 per hour. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $37.26 - $54.76 per hour.
