We are seeking a Technical Program Manager II who will serve as the face of our in-market Surface products, leading cross-functional efforts to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions that delight users and drive customer success.

Responsibilities
As a Technical Program Manager II, you will:
- Lead and collaborate across engineering, product, and business teams to prioritize and deliver technical solutions in both software and hardware domains.
- Drive roadmap execution with minimal supervision, manage schedules, and support governance and release programs.
- Monitor product health using data from telemetry, customer support, and enterprise feedback to identify risks and drive data-informed decisions.
- Present program status and insights to engineering, business stakeholders, and senior leadership.
- Ensure consistent software release execution across Surface product lines.
- Coordinate with internal and external partners to deliver timely fixes that improve customer satisfaction and meet business goals.
- Translate in-market learnings into actionable insights for future product development and influence Day-0 customer sentiment.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree AND 2+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.
- Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., Power BI, Kusto) to support data-driven decision-making.
- 2+ years of experience leading program management or engineering efforts, driving product definition, execution, and successful delivery across multiple release cycles
- 1+ year(s) of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years experience engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of experience managing cross-functional projects through multiple product cycles.
- Experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., for documentation, demos, or technical validation).
- Proven success in improving product metrics (e.g., customer growth, usage, retention).
- Deep understanding of software (OS), driver/firmware dependencies, and hardware integration.
- Advanced proficiency with data tools (Power BI, Kusto) for product health monitoring and launch execution.
Technical Program Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.
