Pricing Analyst

We are seeking a highly motivated Pricing Analyst to join our team and play a key role in optimizing product profitability and supporting data-driven decision-making. This role reports directly to the CFO with high visibility. 

This position works cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Service, and Manufacturing teams to ensure pricing strategies are competitive, profitable, and aligned with business goals. The Pricing Analyst will be responsible for gathering and analyzing market, cost, and competitive data, developing product cost models, and recommending strategic pricing actions that maximize revenue and maintain healthy margins.

Key Responsibilities

Pricing & Cost Analysis

• Collect, analyze, and model data on raw material costs, manufacturing overhead, and market pricing to develop and maintain product cost models.
• Build and maintain pricing models in Excel to support “what-if” scenarios and forecast the financial impact of price adjustments.
• Evaluate customer-specific pricing requests and provide recommendations to the Sales team that balance customer expectations with profitability targets.
• Partner with Procurement to monitor raw material pricing trends and anticipate cost changes that may impact product margins.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with internal Sales teams to support quoting, bids, and contract negotiations with data-driven recommendations.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing and Operations to understand production costs, efficiency drivers, and constraints that impact product costing.
• Partner with Customer Service to ensure accurate price implementation and resolve pricing discrepancies quickly.

Market Intelligence & Reporting

• Research competitor pricing, market demand trends, and industry benchmarks to inform pricing strategy.
• Develop and present pricing reports, dashboards, and recommendations to leadership for strategic decision-making.
• Track key metrics, including margin performance, price realization, and profitability by product/customer segment.

Continuous Improvement

• Standardize and document pricing guidelines and processes to ensure consistency across the organization.
• Identify opportunities to improve data quality, streamline workflows, and automate pricing analysis where possible.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, Economics, or related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in pricing, cost analysis, financial analysis, or business analytics — preferably in a manufacturing or CPG environment.

Skills & Competencies

• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, and basic financial modeling).
• Strong understanding of product costing, raw material pricing, and margin analysis in a manufacturing setting.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) a plus.
