Eastern State Hospital, located in Williamsburg, Virginia, was founded in 1773, with a well-intentional emphasis on community focused mental health care. This state of the art campus, situated on 500 acres, consists of two patient care buildings with 300 patients, and a highly skilled staff of over 900. ESH invites applications for the position of a FOOD SERVICE TECHNICIAN I - TRAYLINE / UTILITY.

This position serves patient meals accurately and attractively using portion control, maintaining acceptable standards of sanitation throughout the plating process and throughout the trayline’s assigned area of responsibility for sanitation. Will carry out any additional duties assigned by the supervisor.

The qualified candidate will be available to work weekdays, weekends and some holidays.

Minimum Qualifications

Must be available to work shifts on weekdays, weekends and some holidays.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to lift heavy objects, bending and stooping; prolonged standing and walking on various surfaces (i.e. concrete, tile, grass, dirt, etc); ability to routinely lift 50 pounds or 25% of body weight (whichever is less); and capability of working in various environmental conditions (extreme humidity, heat or cold).

Additional Considerations

ServSafe Food Handler Certification is preferred.
