International Relations, Senior Rank Faculty Position in Political Science

The Department of Political Science at Stanford University seeks applicants for a senior appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor. The preferred area of specialty is International Relations. Applicants must have demonstrated the ability to maintain a world-class research program and a commitment to effective teaching and mentoring. The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in a related field and will be expected to teach and advise students at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. The term of appointment is expected to begin on September 1, 2026.

  • The salary range for this position is for academic year 2025-26:
  • Associate Professor: $180,250 - $226,600
  • Professor: $257,500 - $360,500

The pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) the qualifications of the selected candidate, budget availability, and internal equity.
