Primary Purpose:

Contributes to student success by monitoring and coordinating the operations of the assigned academic program(s). Acts as liaison with various community entities, internal and external departments, and internal and external customers while providing the most advantageous customer services to students and other constituents.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Plans, directs, supervises, and coordinates work activities of subordinates and staff, including hiring, coaching, evaluating, and terminating.
2. Consults with government regulatory and licensing agencies to ensure the institution's conformance with applicable standards.
3. Represents institution and/or assigned program(s) at community and campus events, in meetings with other institution personnel, and during accreditation processes.
4. Assists in activities required for program accreditation.
5. Reviews operating practices and procedures to determine whether improvements can be made in areas such as workflow, reporting procedures, or expenditures.
6. Assists in making necessary modifications to operational policies and procedures based on analysis of operations, demographics, and other research information.
7. Assesses program quality, presents results, and makes recommendations to management.
8. Sets up and manages paper or electronic filing systems, recording information, updating paperwork, or maintaining documents, such as attendance records, correspondence, or other material.
9. Maintains accurate and complete student records as required by laws, policies, and administrative regulations.
10. Participates in budget preparation and reporting for assigned program(s).
11. Prepares special ad hoc reports / summaries by selecting relevant information from a variety of sources and designed to satisfy inquiries.
12. Provides orientation to and resolves issues for program's adjunct supervisors.
13. Facilities preliminary and qualifying exams (i.e. CCE's).
14. Coordinates and oversees clinical training operations, including practicum, internship, and supervision requirements.
15. Coordinates the Clinical Competency Exam (CCE) process, including outcome reporting and database entry of student performance data.
16. Oversees recruitment, selection, training, scheduling, and student evaluation of practicum placements and supervisors.
17. Supports the review and approval of internship and practicum applications.
18. Ensures timely collection, entry, and analysis of practicum and supervision evaluations; advises the Director of Clinical Training (DCT) on any issues.
19. Handles correspondence and communications for the DCT; prepares and disseminates practicum and internship guidelines, CCE instructions, and clinical training documentation.
20. Updates practicum site information annually and oversees verification of student clinical hours.
21. Plans and coordinates clinical training–related events such as the annual practicum fair, supervisor appreciation luncheon, and CCE presentations.
22. Ensures collection of all internship completion requirements and coordinates with Academic Affairs for degree conferrals.
23. Compiles, maintains, analyzes, and prepares reports on clinical training progress, experiential learning, and career readiness.
24. Acts as liaison between students, faculty, and clinical supervisors regarding training placements and performance.
25. Provides orientation for students and adjunct supervisors engaged in clinical training including working with Academic Affairs on Brown Bag events for students.
26. Counsels students on clinical training requirements, scheduling, and progression toward internship eligibility.
27. Assists in activities required for accreditation related to clinical training components including the Annual Report Online (ARO), five-year report, and self-study documents.
28. Produces and disseminates clinical training publications, including practicum handbooks, CCE guidelines, and supervisor communications.
29. Manages and monitors clinical supervisor overloads and contracts.
30. Acts as liaison between students, faculty, college and university departments.
31. Directs the planning and execution of orientation for new program students.
32. Establishes, maintains, and monitors contracts and affiliation agreements with clinical training sites to create experiential learning opportunities such as internships, practicums, and/or employment opportunities for students. Monitors contracts and affiliation agreements to ensure compliance with institutional and accreditation standards via NSU’s contract portal.
33. Acts as liaison between the University, college, and contracted employers or institutions.
34. Reviews and approves program internship or practicum applications.
35. Coordinates student participation in experiential learning programs,
36. Plans and promotes career and employment-related programs and events, such as career planning presentations, licensing workshops, internship preparation programs, practicum fairs.
37. Compiles, maintains, analyzes, and prepares reports on data related to practicum and internship activities.
38. Assists with alumni tracking and communication activities.
39. Assists in the recruitment, selection, and supervision of student employees and graduate assistants.
40. Attends meetings, educational conferences, and training workshops and serves on committees.
41. Maintains data integrity and confidentiality.
42. Completes special projects as assigned.
43. Provides cross-coverage for Academic Affairs during staff absences to maintain continuity of student services.
44. Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Job Requirements:

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Knowledge:
1. Customer and Personal Service - General Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of user satisfaction.
2. English Language - General knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

Required Certifications/Licensures:

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree

Major (If Required:

Required Experience: Bachelor’s degree and seven (7) years of experience in academic program management or related student service function.

--OR—

Master’s degree and three (3) or more years of experience in academic program management or related student service function.
