Position Function:
The assistant professor reports to the Head of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration. The assistant professor is responsible for teaching in Public Policy and Administration with particular consideration given to well-qualified candidates specializing in public policy and program evaluation.
Salary Grade: UC
For salary grade UC, these positions are "Unclassified" and salary ranges are determined by the hiring department.

16 member department offers the BA and MA degrees in political science, a NASPAA-accredited MPPA degree, and a PhD in public policy and administration.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:
The assistant professor will be responsible for teaching classes in Public Policy and Administration and conducting research in his/her area of specialization; performing such services as necessary to enhance the activities of the department, the college, and the university. The teaching load will be a standard two courses per semester (2/2) with other responsibilities including department, college, and university service functions as well as working with doctoral candidates which will include performing such services as necessary to enhance the activities of the department, the college, and the university.
Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Public Policy with particular consideration given to well-qualified candidates specializing in public policy and program evaluation. ABD status will be considered but must possess a Ph.D. by the time of appointment.

The successful candidate should possess the ability to work effectively with students and colleagues in a multidisciplinary department where access and diversity are important values.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
Work takes place in a traditional office environment.
