The Department of Cyber and Computer Sciences at The Citadel, located in beautiful Charleston, South Carolina, invites applications for a full-time, 9-month faculty position at the rank of Tenure-Track Assistant Professor or Instructor, with a start date of January 2026 or August 2026.

- Cyber Lab

Since 2016, The Citadel has been designated a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense by the National Security Agency (NSA).
Position Responsibilities
Responsibilities Include:
- Teaching undergraduate courses in cyber operations and computer science
- Teaching graduate courses in computer and information sciences or cybersecurity (Assistant Professor)
- Typical teaching load: 12 contact hours/week (Assistant Professor), 15 hours/week (Instructor)
- Student advising, scholarly activity, and service to the institution
The Citadel supports faculty development with internal funding for research, travel, and professional growth.
Qualifications
For Tenure-Track Assistant Professor
- Doctoral degree in Computer Science, Cyber Operations, or closely related field (Required)
- Strong aptitude for teaching in Cyber Operations (Required)
- Engage students in scholarly research (Required)
- Ability to teach core computer science courses (Preferred)
For Instructor
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cyber Operations, or closely related field (Required)
- Strong aptitude for teaching in Cyber Operations (Required)
- Ability to teach core computer science courses (Preferred)
