Purpose Of Position

This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prop Research & Acquisition Research appropriate props based on the script, director’s vision, and historical context. Source, purchase, rent, or create props needed for productions within budget constraints.
  • Prop Organization & Inventory Maintain an organized props inventory, cataloging all items for easy access. Track prop usage, condition, and storage between shows.
  • Prop Maintenance & Repair Clean, repair, and maintain props to ensure they are show-ready.
  • Modify or customize props as necessary to fit the production’s needs.
  • Work closely with the director, set designer, costume designer, and stage manager to align prop choices with the overall production design.
  • Attend production meetings and rehearsals to stay informed on prop needs and changes.
  • Assist with striking the set and returning props to storage after the production ends.
  • Properly store props to preserve them for future use. 

Minimum Requirements

  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Ability to follow directions and take initiative
