About The Role
As the Team Leader of Statutory Planning Administration, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient, timely, and high-quality delivery of a broad range of administrative services that support our statutory planning functions.

In this role, you’ll ensure the efficient, timely, and high-quality delivery of a wide range of administrative functions that support our planning objectives.
- Work type: Permanent, full-time
- Classification: Band 6 Commencing at $95,760 pa plus super
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Lead and manage the team through regular communication, direction, and professional development, ensuring all members have the information and support needed to achieve key objectives.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve the team’s daily processes and procedures—including work instructions, staff rosters, customer service practices, administrative workflows, and information management systems—in collaboration with the Coordinator of Statutory Planning.
- Support the processing and issuance of Town Planning permits to ensure timely and coordinated service delivery across the team.
- Oversee and assist with the lodgement and processing of statutory planning permit applications, property information requests, and Freedom of Information (FoI) requests, ensuring a consistent and responsive approach to service delivery.
- Coordinate input from government agencies and the general public, assisting in the collection and collation of information to meet required statutory deadlines.
- Deliver professional, accurate, and timely advice to clients, and assist the public with enquiries to ensure a high standard of customer service.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have previously managed a large, fast paced team and have had some experience within town planning.
Essential Experience:
- Proven experience in people leadership, with a strong ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team by providing ongoing support, guidance, and direction in a collaborative team environment.
- A good working knowledge of statutory planning functions, the relevant legislative requirements and how this is applied.
- Demonstrated ability to promote teamwork, encouraging collaboration, idea-sharing, and active staff participation in problem-solving and continuous service improvement.
- Excellent professional communication skills, including conducting effective meetings, sharing information clearly, writing reports, and interpreting complex information.
- Proven experience in reviewing, developing, and implementing systems and processes to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery.
Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City).
