Job Summary:
Must be Federal Work Study Awarded by Financial Aid. Admitted/enrolled CSU, San Bernardino students are eligible to apply for student employment positions.
Under the lead work direction of the Coordinator, the Student Assistant works with the staff and assists in the day-to-day operation of the Project Rebound Office and spreads awareness of Project Rebound on campus and in the community.
Under the lead work direction of the Program Coordinator, the incumbent is responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to the Project Rebound team to include cross functional support to other areas of the unit as needed. The Project Rebound Student Assistant will have a strong interest in Project Rebound and other cross functional areas and drive to become a valued team member. Our ambition is to support justice-involved students pursuing higher education at CSUSB while building a world class Project Rebound team and carrying out CSUSB’s mission and vision statement.
Responsibilities:
- Under direct supervision of the Associate Director and under the lead work direction, duties include but not limited to:
- - Assist with program outreach by making phone calls, sending emails, and responding to social media inquiries.
- - Maintain professional communication standards in all outreach efforts.
- - Update and maintain the Project Rebound website and social media platforms regularly.
- - Assist in developing engaging content that aligns with the program’s mission and enhances brand visibility.
- - Monitor and analyze social media engagement metrics to optimize content strategy.
- - Ensure consistent branding across all digital platforms to maintain a cohesive and professional online presence.
- - Assist in collecting data for program reporting requirements.
- - Contribute to the preparation and organization of monthly, mid-year, and end-of-year reports.
- - Maintain accurate and organized files and records for all programs and events, ensuring compliance with university and program policies.
- - Assist in the timely completion of all necessary paperwork, documentation, and filing processes.
- - Assist with record keeping that ensures easy access to historical data for reporting and auditing purposes.
- - Assist in reviewing and updating records to reflect current program activities and ensure their alignment with ongoing reporting needs.
- - Assist staff in planning, developing, and implementing programs and events for Project Rebound and the Office of Basic Student Services (OBSS).
- - Attend all mandated staff meetings and training sessions.
- - Participate in one campus training or workshop outside of regular campus offerings, with advance notification provided.
- - Update and maintain the Project Rebound resource manuals to ensure they reflect the most current information.
- - Assist with referring students and others to appropriate resources and scheduling appointments as needed.
- - Ensure compliance with all CSUSB policies and procedures in carrying out job duties.
- - Provide logistical support for key events like orientations, workshops, graduations, and social gatherings.
Minimum Qualifications: Required Education and Experience
- Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.
- Special Qualification: Admission or registration as a CSU student.
Required Qualifications:
- Maintain a 2.0 G.P.A. or greater per semester and cumulative.
- Students must be enrolled in at least halftime units at CSUSB (6 units undergraduate; 3 units graduate)
- International students must have full-time enrollment at CSUSB. (12 units undergraduate; 6 units graduate)
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Payroll Requirement: Social Security Card
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to follow directions, ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Special Conditions:
Supporting the formerly incarcerated on their journey through successful reintegration in a college setting. In 1967 Professor John Irwin created Project Rebound as a way to matriculate people into San Francisco State University directly from the criminal justice system. The focus of Project Rebound quickly became “Education as an Alternative to Incarceration” and “Turning Former Prisoners into Scholars” after being embraced by Associated Students Incorporated. Since the program’s inception, there have been hundreds of formerly incarcerated folks who have obtained four-year degrees and beyond.
Compensation And Benefits:
Student Employment Anticipated Hiring Range: Determined by Work Study.
The compensation offered will consider internal equity and experience among other factors.
Position Information:
Work status: Part-Time, Temporary, Seasonal
Academic year available hours: Monday through Friday (8:00 am – 5:00 pm).
- Summer available hours: Monday through Thursday (7:00 am - 5:30 pm).

Background Check
