Job Summary:

Wellstar Douglas in Douglasville, Georgia is seeking a FT Imaging Tech Assistant. The days and hours for the position are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9:00p - 7:30a; this position will receive night shift differentials. The Imaging Tech Assistant functions under the direction of the department supervisors or Manager. Providing safe, age appropriate care to the patients in accordance with Policy and Procedures. Maintains good working relationships with managers, staff, physicians and their staff. Assist technologists and/or nurses with patient throughput, transporting patients, performs patient advocate functions, and assists with supply and room stocking activities. May perform Front Office tasks, registration, scheduling, answering phones, and insurance eligibility checks.

Core Responsibilities And Essential Functions:

Transportation of patients; Must be flexible with work hours to meet department needs 

1. Meets service recovery and customer service guidelines as needed
2. Utilizes the EMR transport module and timely enters applicable information.
3. Transports patients, along with necessary items (IV poles, O2 tanks, etc.).
4. Informs technologists of potential patient safety issues; fall risk precautions, infection control precautions and standard precautions.
5. Maintains standard precautions in all patient interactions
6. Assists in getting patients on and off the stretchers or beds as required
7. Assists with observation of patients while in the department
8. Performs patient advocate role for patients while in the department
9. Introduces self to patient and/or family upon entering room
10. Identifies patient using 2 identifiers

Must be flexible with work hours to meet department needs. 

1. Knows the existing lines of communication and authority, handles communications properly and is dependable, cooperative and emotionally stable.
2. Assists Therapists, Front Office, nursing and other staff in any other way required as appropriate.
3. Meets service recovery and customer service guidelines as needed.

Required Minimum Education:

• High school diploma RequiredRequired Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):
• Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) Upon Hire RequiredAdditional Licenses and Certifications:
• Must obtain medical terminology training within twelve (12) months within 180 Days PreferredRequired Minimum Experience:
• Less than 1 year Clinical experience in a healthcare setting. Medical Imaging experience preferred. PreferredRequired Minimum Skills:
• Demonstrates good communication skill and handwriting* Must be able to communicate and understand verbal and written English language* Display a positive attitude
