Description

The Assistant Manager is a customer facing support person in our restaurant. The Assistant Manager oversees daily restaurant operations, supervises and supports staff, manages inventory and customer service, and ensures compliance with safety and company standards, while ensuring a great experience for the guest from start to finish. Restaurant Assistant Manager Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greets customers and ensures a welcoming environment.
  • Oversees daily operations to ensure smooth and efficient service.
  • Supervises staff, providing guidance, support, and accountability.
  • Assists with training, scheduling, and onboarding of new team members.
  • Manages inventory, supplies, and invoices to maintain accurate stock levels.
  • Handles customer service concerns and resolves complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Accepts and processes payments (cash, credit/debit, account charges) accurately.
  • Ensures accurate transactions by balancing register at the beginning and end of shift, and sales at end of shift.
  • Monitors safety and cleanliness of the restaurant, including sweeping, mopping, wiping surfaces, stocking condiments, and maintaining clean glass and dining areas.
  • Performs opening and closing routine duties to prepare the restaurant as a welcoming space for every guest.
  • Ensures compliance with food handling procedures, safety protocols, and health regulations.
  • Adheres to dress code requirements (hat, gloves, etc.) while on duty.
  • Maintains a positive attitude and adheres to the Cooper purpose and core values.
  • Follows all Cooper policies, HIPAA requirements, and standard operating procedures.
  • Completes duties on site with consistent, regular, and reliable attendance.
  • Accomplishes other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • English proficiency required, bilingual a plus.
  • Ability to operate available equipment, such as register, calculator or scanner.
  • Basic mathematical skills, as needed to make change.
  • Ability to work in group setting as well as work independently.
  • Knowledgeable about company’s products and services.

Education And/Or Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Food handling certification (must be completed within first month of employment).
  • Restaurant experience preferred.
  • One-year related experience or training.
  • Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of standing and working on cash register or related equipment.
  • Must be able to lift up to and occasionally move up to 25 pounds.
